Additional information gathered to improve the customer experience and process orders includes data about items in carts, session IDs, language locale, selected store, and whether you are a registered member. 

Marinar ehf. does not store sensitive personal information such as data on religion, sexuality, race, health, political opinions, union membership, or biometric information. Companies are generally not permitted to process sensitive personal data unless exceptions stipulated by the Act on Personal Data Protection and Processing of Personal Data apply. 

2.1 Applications for Jobs 

Marinar ehf. stores all job applications received through the website and mobile application, including all contact information necessary for communication with the applicant. After the recruitment process for a specific position is completed, applications and other contact information are discarded unless the applicant wishes to be considered for future open positions. 

2.2 Contact Us Option 

Marinar ehf. stores all requests sent via the "Contact Us" option, along with the personal information provided by the sender, in case further contact is needed. This helps us keep track of customer requests and complaints to identify trends and implement improvements. 

Marinar ehf.reserves the right to process all data to which the user consents, either during registration or when cookies are accepted. All data is stored and used solely to improve customer experience, manage user access, and maintain communication. Users have the right to withdraw their consent to the use of personal information. To do so, a user can delete their account or deactivate cookies for the site. If a user deletes their account, Marinar ehf.retains the personal data registered before the account deletion in case the user decides to re-register. This ensures that settings and information about favorite products and past purchases are not lost.

Marinar ehf.does not share personal information that the company collects unless legally obligated to do so, such as with the government, lawyers, or courts. Outsourcing of databases may occur, and these databases will be stored by a third party. Marinar ehf.is responsible for all the personal data that processors may handle and guarantees the safe handling of personal data by the relevant third parties. Those who receive personally identifiable information are, therefore, bound by confidentiality in the same way as our employees.
